A Malleable Space

Premiered November 2010, Soho20 Gallery, New York City

Running time:  25 minutes
Performers:  Joanna Kotze, Francis Stansky
Artist:  Asuka Goto

In A Malleable Space, two dancers reshape their immediate physical surroundings using performance, movable walls built by artist Asuka Goto, and the gallery’s existing architectural framework. The performance explores the relationship between the human body and the constructed environment, between exposure and concealment, between movement and space.
